Therapeutic Creative Writing
I offer therapeutic creative writing for individuals who would like to explore personal issues using journalling, exercises/techniques, metaphor, prose and poetry amongst others.
At a variety of settings I also run therapeutic creative writing groups for members of the public, for organisations and agencies and also community celebrations and events. In partnership with Time &Tide Taletellers I am running therapeutic creative writing and landscape sessions at National Trust sites.
Having achieved a Diploma in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes at Bristol University I gained a wealth of skills, knowledge, information and training in tailoring this work to a wide range of client goups. Currently I am studying on the MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes with Metanoia Institute for the purposes of extending and deepening my own research in this area. I am also Chair of Lapidus South West.
I have delivered sessions for people who are preparing for retirement, people with a variety of mental health issues, people coping with loss, people who have been abused and people who are coping with pregnancy issues. Groups have been delivered at Mind, Self-Injury Self-Help, Cruse Bereavement Care, for counsellors and supervisors, for Bristol City Library Service in Bristol and BANES, LinkAge for older carers, at older people's residential homes and Dundry View Community Celebration.
Currently our services are available in South Bristol, and also at The Practice Rooms in Clifton. Please follow the link below to find out more about our Clifton venue. http://www.thepracticerooms.co.uk/bristol
